Why are old or ancient -things always known to be better or

Hello.



In term of reality, we replaced/abandoned old thing because we have found something better and newer but how is that not so in anime/manga?



Beside non-living thing, anime/manga also describe old living people as stronger or even legend. An obvious example would be Naruto.



Just wonder why?
